There are several ways to do some good HP gains when adding aftermarket accessories. Few deliver the sound and power of a good drainage system.

Factory exhaust gas is usually used to deaden sound and back to increase the pressure in an engine. The increase in pressure drop of fuel, but will add to sacrifice a bit 'of power. The result is a narrow, quiet exhaust flow. This can be for those of us who try to save fuel is the ideal, but it is the power just waitingbe activated.

The internal combustion engine, essentially, you breathe in and out, and the efficiency of this process is, the more power that is created in the combustion chambers. Add accessories like an air intake to increase the available air in the cylinders, increasing the oxygen and air flow. This makes the explosions in the combustion chamber more. The fire needs heat) (Funke, oxygen (air) and burn anything (fuel) for sale. Increase some or all of them, and the fire that burnshot and explosive. The record may be more air to enter the system, but the discharge will limit the flow of exhaust gases from the rooms on fire. Replacing the exhaust gas from the factory with a free flow exhaust no longer afford to travel freely inside and outside the system, so the potential power of your sleeping giant!

Not only do you feel the difference in performance, but we understand and feel the difference in how the car sounds. Less restrictiveThe exhaust gases leave the engine to life. This benefit may be discontinued on sacrifice some 'fuel consumption due to more aggressive driving style, but to make these upgrades drive the vehicle more fun!

Hybrid Cars

The next few decades, we can not wait in line at the gas station.

Hybrid cars combine an internal combustion engine with a rechargeable energy system, have become an increasingly visible sight on the road. Have made energy efficient and environmentally friendly, they believed in a hard blow in the fight against the consumption of fossil fuels and global warming.

The first version of a hybrid car dates back to 1901, when FerdinandPorshe, a French developer of cars, the "Mixte", a car that ran in front of a petrol-electric generator. The Mixte won a number of sporting events and even broke the Austrian land speed record. Porsche later developed the original model of the VW Beetle, while his son, Ferry Porsche helped create the famous Porsche sports cars.

Hybrid vehicle today has called its roots in 1970, when Victor Wouk, the "grandfather of the Hybrid," developed aPrototype hybrid car, the Buick Skylark. This was suspended by the Environmental Protection Agency, in controversial circumstances. Wouk remained a supporter of hybrid technology and has numerous articles and lectures on the subject until his death in 2005.

In 1978, engineer David Arthurs developed, leading to a pillar of modern hybrid technology, the regenerative braking system. This system allows hybrid cars to some of their kinetic energy (energy of motion for conversion)into electricity, which is then stored in batteries. In this way a hybrid car can save energy and become more efficient use of energy.

Hybrid cars made their next great leap forward in 1989, when Audi introduced the first version of the Audi Duo, a variation on an electric car already has. In 1993, U.S. President Bill Clinton launched a new program with major automotive manufacturers, including Ford and General Motors, for environmental-friendly productsAuto, helping foster the development of new types of engines.

The hybrid car began to really take off in 1990 with the introduction of the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight. The Prius soon became the most popular hybrid car, with a maximum of 40 percent fuel efficiency than combustion-based models. In fact, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which had once shot down the Buick Skylark, is the cheapest car in the United StatesStates.

The Prius was originally developed in 1994 and first went on sale in December 1997. According to information provided by the EPA, which can take up to 46 miles per gallon of gasoline.

Hybrid cars are gaining popularity in wonderfully 100,000 sales in 2007, a year when the total sales of passenger cars decreased. Than 350,000 hybrid cars were sold in 2007, marking its biggest year. For many U.S. manufacturers such as General Motors to introduce more hybrid modelsCar in the coming years, it is clear that hybrid cars have had much time to gain popularity, their real story only beginning. The future is here … It is a hybrid.

For anyone interested in saving the money at the gas pump and help the environment, the new hybrid cars a good choice. Small and inexpensive, are hybrids is now made by several manufacturers than ever.

Hybrids, even though they cost more, and can be difficult to find because of strong demand, it is worth also choose a hybrid form. Consider the following reasons for buying a hybrid is the next time the market for a new car.

Smaller, more efficient engines

Hybrid fuelincreased small and in fact the use of lightweight materials. Periodic engine shut down fuel economy is another feature of this hybrid. If it is stuck in traffic, the hybrid engine temporarily closed off. The engine restarts automatically when the car is again set in motion.

Hybrids are powered by a combination supports an efficient gasoline engine with an electric motor for acceleration. The electric motor is powered by the battery is automatically recharged by the power of recapturing thekinetic energy during braking, as a rule, known as regenerative braking is lost. If the car is slowing down, the electric motor runs backwards, acting as a generator to recharge the battery.

With this collection of advanced features of fuel efficiency, hybrids can beat conventional cars in several arenas.

Environment Friendly

Another reason hybrids are more environmentally friendly than conventional gas engines is that less downtime and use fuel more efficiently. TheHybrid not only getting the best fuel consumption, it produces less pollution than other, non-hybrid vehicles. Some hybrids are still 10-20 miles per gallon more than a regular gas engine. They are also able to reduce harmful emissions by 90%.

Many hybrids use aerodynamic design to attract and improve fuel efficiency. Low rolling resistance tires in special rubber reduce friction on the road. High-capacity nickel-metal hydride battery pack is reliable and available powerHybrid, if necessary. Hybrids and the latest engine technology for integrated power management, fuel efficiency contributes.

Increase the popularity of styles and choices

Other brands and models are offered as the popularity of hybrid cars continues to grow. Buyers can now, the Honda Civic and Accord, Ford Escape, and Toyota Camry in hybrids. GMC and Chevrolet are currently about 2 hybrid pick-up truck. In the near future, Saturn, Lexus,Honda and Chevrolet hybrid SUVs will be available to the public. Chevrolet plans to expand its Malibu in hybrid form in 2007 to offer.

You can create a hybrid that looks like a conventional machine, such as the Ford Escape. Or you can choose a hybrid that looks completely different from everything else on the road as the Toyota Prius. With so many hybrid cars on the market, it is a style for almost any outfit.

Tax incentives are

People can buy the hybridsreceive substantial tax benefits by the federal government of the United States until 2006. The fee is determined by the tax and when the media file. Some states also offer to go on the hybrid car tax breaks as well. Backed Long-term tax benefits with lower fuel costs make hybrid cars a good buy.

Fuel consumption is becoming a reality

Although almost everyone knows, are hybrids only in recent years, the technology effectively for a long time. FerdinandPorsche builds the first successful hybrid car in 1899. But hybrids started taking hold in 1990 when the Honda Insight introduced and explained the Toyota Prius.

It 'been a long wait, but the transport-fuel consumption is finally becoming a reality with the hybrid. As more of these vehicles on the streets is that our air has become cleaner, and our country becomes less dependent on foreign sources of oil.

The Most Fuel-Efficient Vehicles in North America

Mar 11
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

According to the United Sates Department of Energy, these are the most fuel

efficient vehicles in their respective classes.

Most fuel-efficient vehicle overall – Honda Insight hybrid

(60 mpg city / 66 mpg highway)

Once again the Honda Insight hybrid has taken top honors as being North

America’s most fuel-efficient vehicle. With a 1.0 gas engine mated to an electric

motor, the Insight produces 71 horsepower. The Insight was designed to make the

most of that power using low resistance tires and by having a co-efficient of drag of

.25 (the lower the number the better a vehicle is able to cut through the wind. A

typical family sedan has a co-efficient of drag of about .31). The Insight’s

shortcomings include a cramped interior, seating for two, and oddball styling.

Most fuel-efficient mid-size car – Toyota Prius hybrid

(60 mpg city / 51 mpg highway)

Unlike the Honda Insight, the Prius is capable of carrying 5 people plus their

gear. The Prius generates a total of 110hp from its gasoline engine and its electric

motor. Now in its second generation, the Prius makes few compromises to

passenger comfort. The sleek shape yields a low co-efficient of drag (.26) but

Toyota has managed to do this with a larger, more driver friendly vehicle than the

Honda Insight.

Most fuel-efficient compact car – Honda Civic hybrid

(49 mpg city, 51 mpg highway)

Touted as being North America’s cheapest hybrid, the Honda Civic Hybrid

takes the great design of the regular Civic and makes it even more efficient. With a

total output of 110hp, the Civic hybrid is very competitive for its class. The hybrid

version of the Civic costs about $5000 more than basic sedan but it includes many

more standard features, and some features (like automatic climate control) that are

not available on the regular Civic for any price.

Most fuel-efficient subcompact car – Volkswagen New Beetle diesel

(37 mpg city / 44 mpg highway)

The New Beetle diesel stays on the list even in the face of an onslaught of

hybrid offerings. Making 100hp, the New Beetle diesel may not sound all that

powerful but the 177 lb-ft of torque will shame every other vehicle on the list. Of

course diesels still pollute more than hybrids but they offer few compromises and

their long-term reliability and durability is rock solid, something that cannot yet be

said for hybrid vehicles.

Most fuel-efficient small station wagon – Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix

(30 mpg city / 36 mpg highway)

The Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix are the result of a joint venture of Toyota

and General Motors. Both vehicles come equipped with Toyota engines but much of

the design and engineering came from General Motors. The Matrix and Vibe are

versatile vehicles suited to adventurous, active lifestyles. With a fuel-efficient 1.8L

4-cylinder producing 126hp, the Matrix and Vibe are not going to win many street

races but they make up for it in smoothness, efficiency, and refinement.

Most fuel-efficient large car – Hyundai Sonata

(24 mpg city / 34 mpg highway)

The Sonata is the surprise of the list beating out tough competition to be

rated as the most fuel-efficient large car. The 2.4L 4-cylinder engine is smooth and

relatively powerful. Unfortunately, the suspension is soft, geared more towards

comfort than handling. A BMW this is not. Build quality is great, clearly showing that Hyundai is no longer a second rate manufacturer. This car is all about comfort and

efficiency, a formula that worked wonders for the Toyota Camry.

Finding the Best Hybrid Automobiles in the Market Today

Mar 09
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Hybrid vehicles have exploded in the Western market today. The rising cost of gasoline has made it a necessity. The environmental issue has also paved the way for the popularity of the hybrid vehicles. Governments are also doing their part to encourage the use of hybrid vehicles. Driving a hybrid automobile can mean tax benefits in the form of tax incentives and tax credits.

The Japanese have been the leaders in the hybrid vehicle race and have already been producing some of the world’s most fuel-efficient cars at very affordable rates. American car manufacturers decided to join the race releasing their own lines of hybrid cars.

Hybrid vehicles use an electric battery that powers it and is accompanied by a combustion engine. Depending on the type of engine used and the automobile model, the electric engine and combustion engine model can either work independently and dependently of each other. Here are the popular hybrid engines in the market today:

o Toyota Civic Hybrid

Introduced in 2005, the Honda Civic Hybrid has increased fuel economy and has to date, the cleanest emissions on the planet today. It increased fuel efficiency to more than five percent. The 2006 Toyota Civic Hybrid is comparably better than the 2005 hybrid model increasing power and torque by twenty percent making it fuel efficient, fast and affordable. The car gives a smooth ride to the driver with little effort when stepping on the gas pedal.

The new 2008 Honda Civic hybrid is a little shy in MPG or miles per gallon on the highway compared to the 50 miles per gallon of the 2006 Civic hybrid. However, fuel consumption has been drastically improved on the 2008 version.

o Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD

The American manufacturer of sensible pick-ups has launched its own line of hybrid vehicles, specifically in the SUV department. The Escape hybrid takes its cue from the Toyota Prius. The system runs on the Atkinson cycle having greater expansion ration by taking in less air-fuel mixture. The results is a more efficient and economic car in terms of fuel consumption.

The disadvantage of the Ford Escape however is its relatively decreased torque and power. The Atkinson system is the reason for the reduced power since the car inhales more air than fuel. The Escape hybrid has a maximum of 133 horse power from the original 153. The difference, aside from the decreased horse power, is negligible and is rated at 29 miles to the gallon on a 400-mile highway.

o General Motors Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid

SUVs are considered to be the most fuel thirsty vehicles in the market today. General Motors, makers of the country’s most popular SUVs have decided to shift their focus towards a greener car that still delivers the power, size and style that makes them very popular with people from all walks of life.

The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid was named Green Car of the Year because of its drastically improved fuel efficiency in the V8 engine division. The Tahoe hybrid boasts of 21 miles to the gallon efficiency and is higher than that of the Toyota Camry sedan which also sports a v8 engine. Power and torque are not compromised and the fact that this is large-sized vehicle, its high fuel efficiency makes it a good choice without sacrificing its big size advantage.

Saturn Makes Hybrid Technology More Accessible

Mar 09
2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Recent spikes in the price of gasoline made American car buyers opt for fuel efficient vehicles. This demand for fuel misers was responded to by car makers like the Toyota Motor Corporation by offering the hybrid technology.

Essentially, these cars combine an internal combustion engine with an electric motor to consume less fuel. This technology has been widely appreciated by American car buyers evident on strong sales of the Toyota Prius which is the first hybrid vehicle to be offered in the United States.

The only drawback to buying a hybrid electric car is that it is priced considerably higher than conventional gasoline engined vehicles. But developments in the auto industry paved the way for Saturn, GM’s marquee, to sell a hybrid car at a price considerably less than other hybrids on the market.

The subsidiary of General Motors producing an entry-level vehicle recently announced that the sticker price for the Saturn Aura Green Line starts at $22,695. That figure already includes destination charge, which makes the car the lowest-priced hybrid today.

Aside from the relatively low price, buyers of the Saturn Aura can also avail of the $1,300 tax credit certified by the IRS. This good news to car buyers looking for a hybrid is announced by Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak. “The Aura Green Line is a great value among the hybrids in the mid-size car segment. With a starting sticker price over $2,000 less than any mid-sized hybrid sedan and a $1,300 tax credit, it makes true hybrid fuel savings available to more people than ever before,” Lajdziak claims.

Aside from the tax credit that car buyers can take advantage of, the car can give good savings on the pump with its 28 mpg for city and 35 mpg for highway ratings. The Saturn Aura Green Lines gas mileage represents a 30 percent improvement over the conventional version of the Aura.

Of course, the car’s fuel efficiency depends on driving conditions. Hybrid vehicles are more efficient on city streets where constant acceleration and deceleration is needed depending on traffic flow.

The Saturn Aura Green Line is powered by a 2.4-liter gasoline engine that is coupled with an electric motor which provides addition la power whenever it is needed. The car’s onboard battery pack provides power to the electric motor while the internal combustion engine recharges the batter aside from giving power to the car. The hybrid vehicle saves fuel by shutting off the engine during stops, and under light loads.

It is also equipped with a regenerative braking system which means that the energy produced during braking is used to charge the car’s battery pack. The Saturn Aura Green Line’s powerplant can produce as much as 164 horsepower at 6,400 revs per minute and a torque of 159lb-ft at 5,000 rpm. That amount of power can be easily checked by a brake component from Active Brakes Direct.
